Since January 2025, the current administration has stepped up immigration enforcement substantially, exploiting existing legal mechanisms and creating new ones to increase arrests, detentions, and removals at every stage of the immigration process. In this webinar, we will discuss the expansion of Noncitizen Registration under INA § 262, as one aspect of this expanded enforcement machine. In addition, we will also discuss other risks that advocates must consider when advising noncitizens around affirmative options for relief, including expedited removal, mandatory detention, and discretionary denials.
